L'exposició mostra el treball d’un grup d’arquitectes catalans i balears -aquells que anomenem 'nous realistes'- que arrel de la crisi del 2008 i conscients de que s’iniciava un canvi de cicle tant en la societat com en la professió, redefiniren uns nous paràmetres en l’exercici de l’arquitectura. És una nova generació d'arquitectes que posa en qüestió els paràmetres expansionistes amb els quals es treballava fins aleshores, i que s'enforteix a mesura que l’emergència climàtica es fa més palesa.

Catalan and Balear architecture since the 2008 crisis

The authors of this project, Carme Ribas, Joan Roig, and Victoria Garriga, proposed to
the City Council of Barcelona an exhibition on the architectural reality of Catalonia and
the Balearic Islands in relation to the climate emergency, environmental values , and
decarbonization.
The aim was to showcase the work of some Catalan and Balearic architects, The New
Realists, who, in response to the 2008 crisis, initiated a process of change in both society
and the profession.
